Whole Hog

Princess Mononoke Whole Hog Theatre New Diorama April 2013

Every now and then, I'll flick through Kickstarter and see a project that sounds entertaining. Occasionally, I'll make a donation. Sometimes the projects succeed, sometimes they don't, but that's the nature of most things, and it's the trying that's worth supporting.

One that I'm particularly proud to have been a part of backing has been Whole Hog Theatre's adaption of Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke.

Studio Ghibli are best known for bringing us classics such as Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle (Diana Wynne Jones), Totoro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Tales from Earthsea (Ursula Le Guin) and Grave of the Fireflies. The list goes on. They are incredible.

It's also fantastic that they've thrown their support behind this adaptation. Whole Hog are a small, independent company, and their play is now set to appear at The AiiA Theater in Japan, after an extended UK tour. What a success story.

Looking forward to receiving my signed poster.
